Skywatch

This past week, I was fortunate to photograph the fire apparatus from the BWI Airport Fire/Rescue Department in Maryland. I tried to time it a few times where I could get the aircraft in the background, because my thought was that would make a great post for SWF.

Hey everyone,

Happy Skywatch!!

I'm changing it up abit. These two photos were taken from the recent airport drill I photographed. The first photograph is the men from Cumberland County Engine 45 on a access road at the airport. If you look straight down the roadway, that is Sarah Palins plane sitting there. If you look straight up about the middle of the photo, you see an aircraft flying towards where we are standing. The second photo is of that aircraft flying overhead. It is a USAF C17 Cargo Plane (Thanks to Sparky for the info on the plane)

The aircraft flew overhead several times, so I'm not exactly sure what they were doing in the area.

Skywatch...

Happy SWF,

These photos were taken over the weekend at my wife's aunts house. They are looking south towards the Lancaster Airport which is about a mile from where they live. I was proud of myself, I shot this photo manuel and I think it came out pretty good. I've been practicing alot more with the manuel features and not trying to rely on the auto unless I need to.

I know the powerlines are in the way. I tried in Photoshop to remove them. It did not work, I'll have to keep practicing with that...

Hey All,

Happy SWF!!

Sorry I was not prepared this week for a photo, so I had to yank one from the archives and I hope you guys like this one.

This photo was taken two years ago at a massive fire in Lebanon County. When I say massive, I could see the smoke from my house In Millersville and it's about 25 miles from my house to where this fire was at. The size of this building was 14 acres in itself. If that gives you any idea..

This photo is of a Dauphin County Tower Ladder flowing water on the backside of the building. I thought it would fit as all you have is the smoke, some clouds and the platform..

Good Morning,

Yes it's that time of week again. This week's photos are of the Philadelphia Skyline. Heading to a Phillies game on a bus trip, I was going over my camera and looked over and saw the skyline with the blimp flying overhead and close to one of the high rise buildings. So I decided to start shooting, again forgive me for the quality of photos. I was in a bus doing 65 on I95. I have to be honest and admit I did do a double take as It looked at one point the blimp struck the building. As you can see, it did not.

Skywatch...

Hi all,

Well I decided to try something new and participate in the Skywatch. I hope this photo counts and If it does not, I apologize and I will change it. This is a photo of a plane coming in for a landing at Philadelphia Airport. I was on my way to the Phillies game and shot this manuel on the bus on I95 doing about 65mph. I know it is not the greatest photo but it's a start.
