I am still around...

Hey everyone,
These are photos taken from a multiple alarm row home fire in North York Borough. Photos are about 90 minutes into it when I first found out about the fire. I heard fire equipment from Lancaster being dispatched into York so I got curious and saw they had just struck the 4th alarm. So I took a ride over and the bottom shot is what it looked like when I arrived.
Don't worry folks, I am still around. I have been working a ton lately which leaves me little time to do anything else. With what free time I do get, I like to spend it with my wife and boy. I've been checking out all your blogs, I may not comment but I make it a point to visit at least once a day.
Bradley, thanks for the concern. I appreciate it. All is well and I will be at PPP on the 10th.

How do you keep the fire from spreading into the other homes?

A lot of work is a good thing.

Jim,

Believe or not, alot of times it depends on luck and how far a head start the fire has on the FD before they get there. Alot of the older row homes out in this area have what are called common attics which are essentially large open spaces. If the fire gets up there, it has free reign on the row. Aggressive truck work is usually what can stop a fire. We try to get ahead of it and cut holes in the roof to get the fire to vent their and stop it from spreading.
