Harrisburg Church....

Hey Everyone,

Hope you had a good weekend. I am currently waiting for Bathfitter to show up and redo our bathroom as I sit and type this. This photo is from last week. With Lisa out of town and Wyatt at School. I decided to do a impromtu photoshoot up in the downtown area of Harrisburg. I always liked the downtown area because I think they have some of the coolest architecture around.

This is a church that sits right across the street from the Capital Building. I'm not sure what the name is, but I liked how it looked.

Hope you have a great day!

7th and Herr for the MVA...

Hey everyone,

So while I was up in Harrisburg. I just parked my car was going to walk up and take some photos of the Capital when I heard the beeps go for the men from the Uptown station get alerted to a MVA at 7th and Herr Streets. Where I was to where the accident was I was about 4-5 blocks away. So I decided to roll over and get some photos. This is Tower 2 and Wagon 3 on Herr Street right off of 7th.

I decided to see how well I could do with the black and white feature. I think it came out pretty well.

Hope you had a great week and I hope you have a great weekend!

Protector of the rails...

Hey everyone,

This is a photo of the newest Truck Company in the area. Truck 5-10 of the Strasburg Fire Company. They are first due to the Strasburg Railroad Museum and the other railroad attractions, hence the patch they have on the side of the truck.

That is all I have for today. Hope your week is going well!

The Paxton...

Hey Everyone..

This is a photo taken of the Paxton Firehouse located on S 2nd Street in the Downtown of Harrisburg. With my wife being in Texas and my son in school. I had a free day to myself, so I decided to head up to Harrisburg and do a little photographing and maybe chase a box or two(Only things that came in were an AFA in the Hill and a Vehicle Accident in the Uptown)

I do know this is the oldest firehouse in service and the only two story firehouse in the city. Some of my history books are still packed away so here are some facts about the Paxton from the Harrisburg City Website;

Station Six, known as the Paxton, was home to the former Paxton Engine Company No. 6. It is a two story, white brick, two bay firehouse and is the only station located in the downtown district. The firehouse is the oldest in-service station; built in 1937 on the sight of the company’s first quarters which was built in 1864 and severely damaged in the 1936 flood.

I believe this houses Tower 3 and one of the reserve rigs?? Brad, Rich or Brian, correct me If I am wrong..

Have a great day!!

St Paddys Day Parade...

Hey everyone,

Hope you all had a great weekend. This is from this past Saturday in Harrisburg City. I took Wyatt up to see the annual St. Patricks Day parade. It was my first time up and it was pretty good. Except for the rude guy who kept standing in front of my son and another child forcing us to move a few times and he stood in front of us again. So I decided it was time to leave, Wyatt was starting to nod off anyway.

Have a great day!

Fires running the roof...

Hey everyone,

This will be brief as I need to get back to bed for a few hours. This is another photo from the fire the other night. This was a very difficult fire as the fire extended into the roof which had multiple layers. Which means that the roof has been built up over the original roof with layers and is VERY difficult to cut and makes it tough to extinguish.

Have a great day!!

It's a job...

Hey everyone,

I was on my way home last night from photographing a drill when I hear on my scanner on the police band, a police officer call out he has heavy fire in the building and to get the FD out asap. Well, that perked my attention. So I pulled over and listened for the dispatch. As soon as the dispatch was made, I was only 5 minutes away. I arrived right before the first due engine. The fire was at a business just outside of East Petersburg. I shot about 120 photos before I called it a night.

This photo is of Rohrerstown Fire Company, Truck 6-7 operating on the backside of the business.

Have a great week everyone!!

Oh and I wanted to say congrats to Brian Bastinelli. For those that do not know. Brian was contacted by Mpix to have some of photos displayed at a national conference in Boston which is quite a honor.

So Brian, from someone who has admired your work and strives to get my photos as good as yours, Congrats!!

Overhaul and Wrapping Up....

Hey Everyone..

This photo was taken towards the beginning of the month. It was taken in Harrisburg as crews were wrapping up from a working fire in the 3rd floor of a restaurant located right in downtown Harrisburg in restaurant row.(If you ever get the chance to visit, many good restaurants to choose from)

This is a shot of Tower 3. One of the 3 truck companies that protect the capital city. Of course, they wish they could be as good as the men from the uptown truck, Tower 2(Had to throw that in there for my HBG friends)

This was a very cold night. I was walking back to my vehicle when I noticed the Fulton Bank highrise in the background behind the truck and thought it would be a cool shot to take. If I get the chance, I may be venturing up to Harrisburg again this weekend for the annual ST Pattys Day Parade(Brad, any good places to sit?? any places to avoid??)

Have a great week!!

I'm back...

Hey Everyone...

I am back!

This will be brief as I just got home from work. This is another shot of Wyatt at City Island. I was waiting for the right "pose" so to speak before I took the photo. This was about the 10th photo in a row that I shot of him. He would look at the camera then turn away, or close his eyes or tilt his head down. Of course he was laughing the whole time which is the most important to me. That my little boy was happy...

Have a great week!!

Reflection...

Hey everyone,

I had some free time from packing so I decided to post todays photo. Wyatt and I took a trip up to Harrisburg on Saturday. We visited the fire museum and then we went over to City Island for a little bit. It was a beautifull weekend and we wanted to try and take advantage of it.

Wyatt was standing on a bench overlooking the Susquehanna River and looking at the skyline. I was standing behind him making an adjustment with my camera and I happened to look through the viewfinder and well, this was the end result. I don't know what it was other then my gut telling me that would make a great photo.

I wish I knew what goes on in that little mind of his. He was laughing and smiling while he was there on his little perch just enjoying the day. I can't wait untill he starts to talk, I'm sure he will have alot to say..

I added some new filters to Photoshop, so I hope you like the post processing...

This is moving week for me. I have tried to get to everyone's blog at least once. Even If I did not comment, I was there..

So once things settle down, I will be back to a regular posting schedule...

Have a great week!!
