My company was dispatched to assist another department with a well involved tractor trailer that was on fire. If you were one of the unfortunate souls that was stuck on Route 30 yesterday for a few hours, Sorry!

Backyard Trucking Company...

Hey Everyone,

Another rainy day here in South Central PA...UGH!

This photo was taken this past Thursday. My company was dispatched to assist on a enviromental rescue of a little boy stuck in a tree. A 5 year old boy was chasing a bird(that's what he told us) and he climbed up a tree in his back yard and before he knew it, realized he was up just a tad too high.

The photo above is of Truck 2-4 from the Eden Fire Company. They have the only tiller in Lancaster County. They are in the neighbors back yard directly behind the little boy's house setting up the aerial to get him. I have to admit, I was not sure they would even fit down the driveway leading to the backyard, but they did and were able to get set up without any problems. The little guy was brought down the ladder safe and sound, just more tired and a little scared then anything...

Has anyone been having problems with doing scheduled postings?? I have tried to do the last few posts that way and when they don't show up, I check and it has them listed as in the draft form...

Have a great day!

Wyatt meets The Amtrak Safety Police...

Hey Everyone,

Hope you had a good weekend. This was taken when Thomas was in town. Amtrak Railroad Police had a safety stand set up and they had this little officer meeting the kids that were there. Wyatt was not too sure about him right away, but eventually warmed up to him..

Have a great day!

Little Late Today...

Hey Everyone,

Sorry a little late today. Had a doctors appointment this morning and of course, they were not running on time. I love how they tell you, you MUST arrive 15 minutes early but they can run almost an hour behind as they did with my appointment today. Oh well..

This was taken down in Beach Haven. The seagull was perched on a dock pole with a lighthouse behind it and I was getting ready to take the photo when the seagull decides to take off. I'm actually turning as I am taking this photo following the bird.

I don't think it came out too bad...

Hope you have a great week!!

The Golden Years...

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I missed the last 2 days. I am getting ready to teach a class at work and was busy trying to wrap things up with that. This was taken at Beach Haven at one of the parks where Wyatt and I were. I thought it was a cool shot with them looking out into the bay.

Have a great day!

Entering into Black and White...

Hey Everyone,

This is a photo of Wyatt I posted before but slightly changed it. I thought it would be cool to keep the back side of the tube in color and the side I was on where I took the photo into black and white.

I liked how it turned out, hope you do too..

Oh for my blogger buddy Jim from Texas, how about them Cardinals buddy??? HAHAHA

Wyatt making new friends...

Hey Everyone,

These were taken last night in Palmyra in Lebanon County at the firehouse which is Station 1. They put on their annual open house for fire prevention week. I have to tell you, that was one of the best open houses I have ever been to, they did a great job in promoting fire safety but also the department. I have never seen such a crowd at an event.

Anyway, Wyatt met Smokey the bear and Sparky the firedog at the open house and had the chance to get his photo taken by yours truely..

Have a great weekend!

Open House...

Hey Everyone,

These photos were shot last Saturday at Glick Fire Equipment's open house. Every year, they open the facility up and give tours, show the apparatus they sell and who they have sold to. I took Wyatt down and we were checking out the new rigs when I saw the rig in the bottom from Shippensburg which I believe is Brad Myers old department?? (Correct me If I am wrong)

Brad, I thought you taught the men better. It seems that the truck is a bit confused as to what it wants to be..

Right in front of Glick's Fire Equipment is the runway for Smoketown airport and the owner of Glicks actually lives in a house just on the other side of the runway.

It seems lately that the only thing Smoketown Airport is known for is for having it's pilots fly into restricted airspace a little bit to close to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave...

Oh well..

Have a great day!

Movie Magic in Lititz....

Hey Everyone,

Sorry about yesterday's post. I just forgot! That's what happens when you get to be Brad Myers age..(Just kidding buddy)

On Sunday, I worked some OT then went over to Lititz to meet a friend of mine from their department to get some new photos of their Seagrave Wagon(Engine). While waiting and talking to some of the other guys that I knew, I asked what was going down on Main Street and they said a movie was being flimed by a group of College Students. So I thought that would make for a cool photo op and I took a walk down and snapped some shots.

If you have never been to Lititz, it is home to Wilbur Chocolate and it is a pretty neat little town. Alot of Historical buildings in town as well. Lititz also does the largest fireworks show in this area for July 4th.

Have a great day!

Reflections and Philly....

Hey Everyone,

Hope you are having a good week. I am posting two different photos today. One is a photo for my blogger buddy Jim K from Texas of downtown Philadelphia. Jim seems to think that the Phils won't go very far this year in the post season. Jim ol'e buddy, just remember nothing good has come out of Texas Sports Teams. An example, Terrell Owens. nuff said on that subject(For those that think this is serious, it's not. all in good fun)

The next photo is of Wyatt in Lancaster City Fire Departments New Ladder Truck. Truck 2. My newest blogger buddy, James from the Bucks County Area just outside of Philadelphia has started a trend on posting reflections. If you look to the right of Wyatt in the crew cab, you see my ugly mug lining up to take the shot. If you like to check out his blog, here is his link;
