Skywatch...
Hey All,
Happy SWF!!
Sorry I was not prepared this week for a photo, so I had to yank one from the archives and I hope you guys like this one.
This photo was taken two years ago at a massive fire in Lebanon County. When I say massive, I could see the smoke from my house In Millersville and it's about 25 miles from my house to where this fire was at. The size of this building was 14 acres in itself. If that gives you any idea..
This photo is of a Dauphin County Tower Ladder flowing water on the backside of the building. I thought it would fit as all you have is the smoke, some clouds and the platform..
Hope you enjoy the day and Please check out the other great SWF sites at the link listed to the left!
Have a great day!
Woody

Looks like the firefighters didnt have much of a chance to put it out. Its huge.
Terrell is about 30 miles east of Dallas.
I like it Woody, it fits perfectly. I don't get much chance to get out and get something new these days myself.
Very impressive photo! Thanks for sharing.
Very different skywatch and archives are always welcome.

Wow.. sounds like a mighty big fire by the description you were giving.

Now that's a dramatic photo. Happy SWF
I thinkl that's a winner! Excellent photo-journalism.
Great shot -- has some excitement going on...
Woody: A great capture of a tragic time for the people of the town.
Eerie photo, very unique for skywatch! Happy SWF :)
Wow … what a dramatic capture! I’m glad you pulled it from your archives to share. Mine’s up at Sacred Ruminations.
Hugs and blessings,
That is a dramatic photo, I'm glad you explained as it looked like there were three guys nailed to the gable of a roof.
Looks like beautiful skies without the smoke.
wow! some fire!
I live in Lebanon County and do not recall this fire. What is it? Great photo....
Yes...oh my goodness. How could I forget that fire? Thanks...
Thank you all for stopping by my blog. I will get to your blog as soon as I can If I have not been there already.
LadyinPink,
This fire was at the old ALCOA plant located on Route 419 just outside of Cornwall Borough. It is in South Lebanon Township. The fire was on October 26th 2006 and went to a total of 10 alarms
Wow, very impressive but scary pic!
I admire your courage. This is quite a photo, too!
Very cool shot Woody. Firetruck and fire fighter are always a welcome addition to SWF.
Cheers
That's a powerful photo. Amazing! We dealt with large fires a couple of years ago. Smoke from 60 miles away inundated us. Amazing.
Whoa! That is quite the blaze! It's amazing that you could see the smoke from so far away...
Wow, what a unique vantage point for this skywatch. Unfortunate as the opportunity was, what a magnificent photo it is!
Spectacular shot Woody!
Awesome shot, and since I've never seen it's new to me:)
That is a big fire. My husband has been a volunteer for 25 years and is taking an EMT course as we speak. Thanks for all you do for your community...
Most spectacular stuff. Those fire fighters sure are staring at the mouth of a real danger. There is nothing wrong with getting something from the archives.
That is one scary looking fire. So much smoke. That is a nice photograph.
Initially I thought they were dark clouds. Hope there were no casualties.
That's a WOW shot, my favourite this week!
I love the shot! It looks like the clouds and the smoke are blending together.
Thanks for dropping by! ;)
